Several government and private sector financing programs are available to support business expansion. UCEDC can assist businesses in determining which lending sources may be best to suit a company’s particular needs.

New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA)

Financing programs include taxable and tax-exempt bond financing, a statewide loan pool programs, loan guarantees and direct loans. In addition, loan are available for businesses in targeted urban communities and for businesses that recycle or export goods.

U.S. Small Business Administration (USSBA)

Financing programs include the 504 Loan Program that provides funds for the purchase of fixed assets and for construction/renovation projects; and the 7A Loan Guarantee Program, which provides loan guarantees. In addition, UCEDC can assist women-owned businesses obtain pre-qualification for these loan guarantees.

First Steps Childcare Loan Program

Special loan program for new or existing childcare programs, including center-based, home-based and non-profit centers. Loans range from $500 to $150,000 and can be used for the purchase of educational supplies, furniture, playground equipment, fencing, etc.
 

UCEDC/United Way Emergency Loan Program

Unique program to assist United Way member agencies with short-term cash flow needs.
