What is ISO 9001:2000?

The International Organization for Standardization is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies from 100 countries, formed 50 years ago to foster international commerce. ISO 9001:2000 certification assures high quality standards at all stages of design, development, manufacturing and delivery.

ISO 9001:2000 certification has become a prime requirement of conducting business with large corporations in the US, Europe, Asia and other countries. Prior to receiving ISO 9001:2000 certification, companies go through an audit of documents and methods by which their products are designed or developed, produced, inspected and controlled.

In addition to helping satisfy customers, ISO 9001:2000 certification helps companies to improve their efficiency and quality.

UCEDC ISO 9001:2000 Training

The ISO 9001:2000 Consortium was formed by the UCEDC to assist small- to medium-sized businesses design and implement consistent quality control standards.

ISO 9001:2000 certification is often cost prohibitive for many companies, ranging from $50,000 - $100,000, depending upon the size of the firm. The UCEDC receives a grant from the NJ Department of Labor to cover the bulk of the cost of this training – leaving the final cost of this training to approximately $3,000 - $4,000 per company – SIGNIFICANT SAVINGS!

The UCEDC selected Stat-A-Matrix Institute, a world-renowned company specializing in quality assurance programs, to conduct the 15- to 18-month training programs.

The Consortium will assist companies with getting ISO 9001 Certification. The size of our Consortiums are limited in size to about 20 companies to ensure proper training.
